Congratulations on completing your very first activity on the Summer Learning Journey this year. I am so excited to see a few students from Owairaka kick starting their journey. This is incredible. We have about 80 students already participating in the programme this year. Isn't that incredible.
What a great way to kick start your journey, you have shared three really interesting facts. I also love that New Zealand has a cool meaning behind the Maori name Aotearoa. According to the Te Ara website, their are two well known stories which the name Aotearoa is believed to have derived from. Both of these stories involve voyagers who are drawn to New Zealand by the long white cloud which would hang over the length of our country. Do you know who these voyagers are?
I see that I have a lot of cathing up to do as you have been busy over the holidays. Keep up the awesome work Herbie.
